Larry H. Small, PhD, CCC-A is Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), where he has taught for 24 years. While at BGSU, he served as the Director of the University Honors Program (1991-1996) and was Chair of the Department from 2003 to 2007. He was on the Executive Board of the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) from 2007 to 2011, serving as President from 2009 to 2010. Dr. Small is an adjunct professor at Ohio State University, where he has taught part-time in the AuD program for 9 years. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Small has taught courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in phonetics, hearing science, diagnostic audiology, and aural rehabilitation. He has authored or coauthored numerous presentations and publications. His textbook, Fundamentals of Phonetics: A Practical Guide for Students, is currently in its fourth edition.
