Elizabeth C. Ward

Elizabeth C. Ward, BSpThy (Hons), Grad Cert Ed, PhD, FSPAA, is a speech pathologist. She is the Director of the Centre for Functioning and Health Research, Metro South Hospital and Health Service, Queensland Health, and a conjoint Professor with the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, The University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Liz has been a leading international researcher in the field of head and neck cancer management for over 25 years and has had a long-term commitment to enhancing the role of allied health services in the clinical care for patients and their families. Her research in this field has been integral to building the current understanding of treatment impacts across survivorship, to demonstrating the impact of allied health services and the efficacy of our management, and in supporting equitable patient care through the establishment of safe, valid, and reliable telehealth services. Her achievements have been enhanced, shaped, and enriched by maintaining close working relationships with many local, national, and international clinical teams and key consumers who continue to guide and inform her research.
