1. Basic Information on the Proposal

Why is the book/material being written? Why is it needed? What will it cover? What will be different about it than similar materials? What is special or unique about the approach, organization, or style in which it is being prepared? What are the credentials of the authors/editors?

This is the main section of the proposal and should be as detailed as possible
  C. Target Market
For whom is the book/project intended? Be as specific as possible. What other group(s) would be interested in it? Include the primary market, secondary market, and any possible crossover markets. If you have information on the size of the target market, please include it here.
  D. Table of Contents
List the chapters/units as they will appear. Provide a brief summary of the material to be included in each or list headings and subheadings.
  E. Size of Book/Project
You may estimate this by number of words, number of typewritten pages, or number of book pages, whichever is easiest for you.
  F. Illustrations and Tables
Give a brief description of the types and number of illustrations and tables you plan to include. Will the illustrations require color or be adequate in black and white? Will you be creating new illustrations or republishing them from other works?

Provide a list of other titles/materials on the same subject as your proposal, including any you believe may be in preparation. Give the publication details of each competing work, including the price, year of publication, and number of pages. Indicate how your book/project would differ in content, approach, and style.

Please review the competition thoroughly. This is not only helpful to us in determining marketing for your book but also may assist you in planning a more successful book/project.
