Julie Barkmeier-Kraemer, PhD, CCC-SLP
Dr. Julie Barkmeier-Kraemer is a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, Davis. She is also a member of the Voice-Speech-Swallowing Center team, an affiliated member of the Center for Neuroscience and member of the faculty for the Neuroscience Graduate Group. Dr. Barkmeier-Kraemer received her undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Iowa and completed postdoctoral research with Dr. Christy Ludlow at the National Institutes of Health. She served on the faculty for 14 years in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences faculty at the University of Arizona where she developed and taught a graduate course in Dysphagia. Dr. Barkmeier-Kraemer is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is also an ASHA Fellow. Dr. Barkmeier-Kraemers primary research addresses the sensorimotor controls of the larynx for respiration, voicing, and swallowing.
